Why I am the way I am. (republished from myspace blog)

Posted on Monday, January 29, 2007 in Journal Entry

Well this is actually a duplicate from my personal journal entry the other day I am reciting by memory. Why I am the way I am. I will just cover a part of it and probably the big few things that make me who I am today and why I do what I do on a daily basis.
First off my grandfather, a 1916 born, 8th grade educated, Millionaire + by the time he passed in 1997.
Secondly the Tech bubble era, Working at a hotel front desk in high school 30+- hours per week I had the opportunity to see on a daily basis in the USA Today money section the young late 20’s and early 30 year old MBA’s with 9 figure yearly salaries including stock options.
Thirdly the “Hip-Hop” era of rap artists such as “Cash Money Millionaires” with catch phrases such as “leave the sticker on the Bentley to show the Price” and videos such as “Get Your Roll On” with slick tracks and Exotic cars that look like there at the icecapades.
Theses three things stick out most in my mind. No apologies.
I think we, and I mean we as in those in our 20’s and 30’s are at a point in time where whether we are from the ghettos, Ivy league schools, or just the average middle America have the opportunity to change everything about our lives and the world we live in. Weather that change be our financial position, our media status or lack there of, and our political power and influence.
And as one of my new favorite bands Rage Against the Machines would say ” It has to start somewhere It has to start sometime, what better place than here, What better time than now” do we have to take advantage of the opportunity’s at hand. If we wait to long, like time those opportunity’s will flee from our reach. And none of us want to be 5, 10, 20+ years down the road saying “I wish I had only done this, or I wish I had done that”.
So lets make history starting now….
